Matt Gemmell
AKA: "Papa Smurf"

Matt has MANY arrows to his bow! Since retirement, he is a keen runner, having completed many, many miles, marathons and ultramarathons, including the West Highland Way (Ultra), the WHW Triple Crown and the Everest Marathon in his 60th year!
His other interests include volunteer work at CHAS Robin House, Balloch (Gardening team); Disaster Aid UK & Ireland, initially as a (DART) Disaster Aid Response Team Member, resultantly, Matt has helped in Dominica, Caribbean; Sulawesi, Indonesia and Kerala, India, following natural disasters in these areas, but now concentrating on writing magazine articles, newsletters and other information about the charity. He also volunteers with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission - checking and reporting on the condition of war graves in the local area.

He is also involved in Race Marshalling throughout the U.K - Keeping other runners safe, as they try to attain some of their running goals.

In recent years, Matt has taken to Canicross (running with his dog Cali, attached to his waist). Both enjoy the energy burn of this activity. He is also keen on other outdoor pursuits, including taking himself off on adventures with his mountain bike and one-man tent... always with his camera. He then posts about his exploits on Facebook, with beautiful pics and descriptions of his highs & lows (not just terrain-related)... often wearing his JUST4 Physiotherapy gear! Please say "Hi", if you spot Matt out and about the local area!
