Acupuncture promotes natural healing by the insertion of fine needles into specific acupuncture points located along energy pathways, called meridians. These points access the body’s natural energy flow known as Qi (pronounced Chi). Only single-use, sterile (individually blister-packed), disposable needles are used during this treatment.

 

You may sometimes experience a mild and momentary sensation when a needle is inserted. It is not however a painful process and indeed many people find the treatment itself very relaxing. The initial treatment begins with a consultation and generally takes around an hour. Subsequent treatments take about 30 - 45 minutes.

 

Some people may feel a significant improvement after the first treatment, however; depending on the severity of the presenting complaint/condition; how long it has been present and the person’s general health, the number of treatments required to restore health can vary greatly.
